EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Regular meeting of experts from the fields of architecture, spatial planning, landscape architecture, building conservation and building culture in general.

CONTENT:
The focal point of the programme is a two-day international conference (October 11 and 12) devoted to current issues of architecture quality and building culture with the participation of professional community. The conference will be attended by more than 200 people with expected participation of representatives from about 20 EU Member States. The discussed topics will include:

• New European Bauhaus,
• The Davos Declaration and the subsequent process,
• examples of foreign architectural policies,
• the role of state architects,
• sustainability,
• affordable housing,
• post-war settlement reconstruction.

As a part of the programme, the updated document Architecture and Building Culture Policy of the Czech Republic will be introduced. Individual topics will be accompanied by panel discussions. The final programme of the conference can be downloaded as an attached file.

The afternoon prior to the conference (October 10) is dedicated to a meeting of a closed group of architecture policy directors, i.e. public administration representatives dealing with the preparation and implementation of building culture policies in their countries.

On the day following after the conference (October 13), a full-day trip to the Liberec region and half-day walks and visits of important buildings in Prague will be organised as a part of an optional accompanying programme. The working language of the conference is English; interpreting to Czech will be arranged. The conference will be streamed.

The conference is free of charge.
