The Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic (MRD) belongs to the system of central bodies of the state administration of the Czech Republic in areas defined by relevant legal documents. With its powers, competences and responsibilities for managing funds, it plays an important role in government. The Ministry was established with effect from 1 November 1996 and is the central body of the state administration in matters of: regional policy, housing policy, development of housing and housing stock, rental of apartments and non-residential premises, planning, building regulations, expropriation, investment policy, tourism , public auctions and real estate activities, funeral services.

The Spanish presidency of the Council of the EU: 1 July - 31 December 2023

Spain holds the presidency of the Council of the EU for the fifth time. The motto: 'Europe, closer' highlights Spain's commitment to advancing in European unity, bringing citizens closer to the decisions present in our day-to-day lives.

Spain has identified four priorities for the work under its presidency of the Council:

reindustrialise the EU
advance in the green transition
promote social and economic justice
strengthen European unity

Throughout these last decades, Europe has shown how much it can do for Spain. Now, the time has come for Spain to show the world how much we can do for Europe. Our country assumes the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union with humility and gratitude. But also with ambition, determined to make it a useful instrument to improve the lives of citizens.
